Do I tell them?

Kinja'd!!!

I have had 0 mechanical problems so far, knock on wood. And no, spontaneous seat immolation doesn't count.

You know, now that I think about it, there's nothing wrong or was wrong with my BMW that isn't a wear item. Maybe the water pump would be considered a non-wear item, but literally every car at my house other than the Fusion is going to need one soon.

Knocking on wood wont save you now, expect firey car death from tempting fate.

I would say seat immolation counts. My Dad's Fastback's seat self immolated. If they have taken this long to fix a problem, it's a problem. /s

I know, I know. I prefer not to use that, but obviously it's the only way to make sure sarcasm gets understood online.

Oh Shit! You forgot about the power of the self-whammy Jinx! Prepare for inexplicable deep engine failure.

Water pumps are part of maintenance. The only non-wear parts I've had an issue with on my E46 a sunroof motor and a resistor. I think.

Wear items pretty much just consist of things that have to be replaced on all cars. Water pump included IMO.
